Amy’s Story
Name: Amy
Age: 15 years-old
Location: Bang Pli, Thailand
Description: This is the story of Amy, a 15-year-old girl whose parents are migrant workers, living and working on construction sites in Thailand. Amy has been a part of Construction of Hope for 6 years, learning from Pastor Vino, his wife, and our other volunteers. Watch this short video to see the impact Construction of Hope has had on her life.
The Need
Over 3.8 million migrant workers came to Thailand from Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar in 2019 alone. Many of them work and live on dangerous construction sites in Bangkok. Children of construction workers are forced to spend their days in unsafe living conditions, often unable to go to school because of their inability to speak the Thai language, their frequent moves from one construction site to the next, and extreme poverty.
Our Response
Since 2012 Construction of Hope has been providing an education, food, and safety to children of construction workers. Most importantly, we have been sharing the good news of Jesus Christ and the hope found only in Him.
