Miraculous IncreaseOctober began with the opportunity to preach at Cornerstone Lake County, sharing a message about Delighting Yourself in the Lord (Ps 37:4) and the work God is doing in Thailand and Cambodia through Lifesong for Orphans.  You can listen to the message here.  God gave me the chance to talk to almost all of the members of the church, together giving more than 10% of my funds!  Praise God for their faithfulness!  It’s a blessing to be part of such a radical church family.

Eight days after preaching that message, God showed just how big He is.  My prayer was to be fully funded before leaving for training at the end of October.  God’s response was to provide the rest of my funding, plus enough extra to have a 4-6 month buffer, through a $20,000 gift from a faithful friend of the ministry (who I have never met)!!  God also provided a work visa for my first year, another seemingly impossible situation that God worked out.  Our God provides in miraculous ways and opens doors no man can open.  He is a big God and loving Father!

October 27th I was able to preach at Kingdom Living Church, where one of my old coworkers is pastor.  It was a blessing to be able to share the Good News and talk about the wonderful work God has been doing in Thailand and Cambodia, as well as challenge them to intentionally show love to others.

I am currently in Colorado at a 4-week long training program with Missionary Training International (MTI).  The first two weeks we are learning skills for learning languages, something that has always been a struggle for me.  These lessons have been a huge blessing and we are only one week in!  The last two weeks of the program will focus on learning skills related to living in another culture and working with people from many cultures.  God has been teaching me a lot and I have been able to meet some amazing new friends who will be serving all over the world.  ThailandThis month I want to highlight some of our wonderful children.  This is Michel.

Michel is 14 years old and came to Thailand about two years ago with her parents who came to work construction. Her brother, Prasan, stayed behind in Cambodia.  Once moving to Thailand, Michel met a child from her parent’s construction site (Narong) who was already attending the Lifesong learning center/church and invited Michel to join. Michel joined on May 27, 2018, and quickly became a part of the regular routines. Hearing the Gospel, Michel soon professed faith in Christ. Seeing the change in her daughter, Michel’s mother professed faith in Christ the next month and decided to bring Prasan to Thailand so that he could join the mission as well.

Michel is a hard worker and eager to learn, refusing to give up on something until she understands it. Her favorite subjects are English and Math. She hopes to be a missionary one day. Her favorite Bible verse is Joshua 1:8.

CambodiaThis month I want to tell you about Nop, one of the girls who lives in the children’s home in Takeo, Cambodia.  Nop has three brothers, two live with her in the children’s home, and one older sister who is in our university program in Phnom Phen.  Nop and her siblings were the first to welcome me during my visits to Takeo over the last 2 years.  She is kind and has a lot of empathy for others.  Even when she did not know how to communicate with me, she tried her best to make me feel welcome and to make sure I had everything I need.  Nop loves to help lead worship, and works well with the younger students.  She is an eager learner and does her best.  She and all three of her siblings have become Christians during their time at the children’s home.  You can learn a little more about her by watching this video.

You can sponsor Nop, providing the funds needed to pay for her education, food, clothes, and home by clicking here.
